Awesome screening at Madison High School!

Madison High Screening

Last Friday we had a fantastic screening at the beautiful Madison school library. Mrs. Gomes' Film and Literature class presented three short videos dispelling a variety of stereotypes and misconceptions to over 200 fellow students. If you look in the background, you can see a few of the forty papier mache fish that were also in attendance!

Video Of The Week 6/01/2009

La Demande is an OLLIE video about economics, created by students at Reynolds High School.  That might now sound terribly interesting, but these students have taken a rather dry subject and turned it into something both entertaining and educational.

I love The Turtle!  This video is about the world's first submarine, which was used by the American colonists during the American Revolutionary War.  This OLLIE video was created by 5th graders in Mr. Lifton's class at Creative Science School, during the Winter 2008 term.

Quinceañera is a terrific OLLIE documentary that was made by students at Ron Russell Middle School.  The quinceañera is a traditional party that young women from Latin American cultures have when they turn 15, to celebrate their passage into womanhood.

Sunshine of Marshall is without a doubt my favorite OLLIE video that was created during the Winter 2009 school term.
