Upcoming Fall Term!!

It is that time of the year again!! OLLIE team is getting ready and energized to work with approximately 150 young people this coming Fall term. After we finished our awesome Summer Program we  became more inspired to continue this great program. We are really looking forward to start working with great projects such as the skateboarding in Portland project with Beverly Cleary School, or making videos about the upcoming Presidential Election with the Reynolds High School students. Visit this website often to keep watching all the amazing videos our participants are going to create.

Video Searching Enabled!

Shazamo! OLLIE videos are now searchable! It took a long time, and a lot of tagging (thanks, OLLIE team!), but I think that it was definitely worth the trouble. Just click on the "Movies" link at the top of the page, and then type some keywords into the search box. You can search by school, student name, term, OLLIE trainer, theme, or whatever you want. How convenient! I'm going to go search right now for "animation", and see what comes up!

Moving Images Celebration Screening

Last Saturday we had our celebration screening for Moving Images. The turn out was fantastic! Over 60 students, family, and friends were in attendance. Brianda from session 1 and Sutton from session 2 hosted. We had some delicious refreshments donated by Black Sheep Bakery and Tazo Tea. The new executive director of Portland Community Media, Sylvia McDaniel, said a few words. OLLIE's director Laura also spoke and said what we've all been thinking- we're so proud of these kids! Everyone did an awesome job making creative, thought provoking films with wonderful stories. We showed all the videos from sessions 1 and 2, and gave each of the students in attendance a moment to talk about their projects. Many of the kids said it was harder than they expected it to be, but also very rewarding. I really hope all these kids keep making media, because they all have a great talent for it. Thanks again to everyone that helped with Moving Images and the screening! I'm so jazzed to be a part of this great program.

Boeing Family Fun Fair

I went to the Boeing Portland Family Fun Day on Sunday, and it was super sweet. We set up an animation stand, brought out some clay, and let people make their own stop motion animations! We had about 25 kids working individually or collaboratively to make these. Enjoy!
