About OLLIE

Could you load 25 students on a bus once a week for 8 weeks and bring them to a community access center to learn media skills? Probably not. But what if the access center could come to your students?

It can.

The Oregon Learning Lab for Information Education (OLLIE), a joint project of Portland Community Media and MetroEast Community Media, is an innovative youth media program. We bring expert trainers and professional equipment to your school or after-school program.

Students in OLLIE learn all aspects of video production, from pre-production to editing. They gain valuable media literacy skills for the 21st century, using high-end cameras, microphones, computers, and digital editing systems.

OLLIE youth finish the program with a deeper understanding of their class subjects and heightened technological confidence. They produce quality work to share with their community and the world.
