Maya obtained her Film & Video Production degree from Pacific University (Forest Grove, OR) in 2005. She worked as a production assistant for public access TV station TVC-TV and later joined the Portland Community Media TV family as a production assistant. After that she worked from Fall 2007 until Spring 2009 as a youth media trainer for the OLLIE program, and she enjoyed it.
