Serra grew up taking photographs and has been creating her own videos since middle school. After earning a Master's degree in media art from Emerson College (2006), she pursued a career path in documentary editing until she realized that what she really wanted to do was share the video-making process with others. Her work has shown on PBS and WGBH NOVA, as well as all over the internet. She currently works at MetroEast Community Media as a Media Producer and Educator, and continues to take photographs in her spare time.
