The OLLIE staff really loves our bicycles. We are all regular riders and try to ride to work whenever the weather isn't too miserable. September was Bike Commute Challenge month, sponsored by the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. Myself, Laura, Maya, and Gariet all agreed to bike as much as possible, as well as much of the staff of Portland Community Media. Although PCM didn't win, we were ranked pretty darn high- the #12 team in our category, out of 242! Between the four of us here at OLLIE we rode hundreds of miles, and at least two of us rode to work any given day. As the weather gets colder and wetter we might slow down a little bit, but we've all got rain jackets and a commitment to sustainable transportation. Now if only someone wanted to donate several covered, waterproof trailers, maybe we could start biking to our OLLIE gigs!
