Youth Camera Action Screening

On Friday, May 16th, 2008 at 6:00 pm OLLIE (the Oregon Learning Lab for Information Education) will be holding its first annual youth video showcase, highlighting exceptional work from the 2007-2008 school year. We will be screening 15 videos produced by 75 young people (grades 4-12.) The projects are tied to school curriculum or community issues and include an animation about The Turtle (the world’s first submarine used in battle) and a narrative about the perception of teens as shoplifters in convenience stores.

Schools and programs featured will include H.B. Lee Middle School SUN, Girls Inc., Lynch Wood Elementary School SUN/Campfire, Reynolds High School, Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School SUN, Creative Science School, Trillium Charter School, Mt. Scott Alternative High School, and more! The event will be youth hosted and will include a student panel after the screening. This will be an exciting celebration of the young people in the Portland Metro area who participate in the OLLIE Youth Media Program.
